Dear Micah,
First of, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! You're finally 17, how fucking insane is that?! You can finally drive on your own, what a wonderful time. I hope that you past your road test! Don't forget, hand over hand.
I don't really know why i'm writing this letter to you other than the fact that your 16th year old self (which was just yesterday!) wanted to wish you a happy birthday. I know we don't get a lot of them. Wow that came out a lot sadder than I wanted it to.
Today, I took 2nd lesson of the six hours. It went decently, I still sucked at the whole hand over hand thing, hopefully, now that you're finally 17 that got sorted out or you wouldn't have your license right now which is tragic. SO DO BETTER! School went okay today, I saw Coghan and there was this feeling in my chest of just hurt and a whole lot of other things. I don't really know how I feel about it so im making up for that feeling by listening to sad music that just makes me want to sit in the dark and cry. Not exactly the best feeling in the world is it?
Anyways, I don't want to remind you of sad shit so im gonna ask a bunch of questions that your past self currently have no answer to that hopefully you will.
1. Do you have a boyfriend? Have you gotten a boyfriend?
2. Have you made decisions about what to do for college?
3. Where are you applying to?
Currently, you have 9 colleges in mind. UMich, NYU, UT-Austin, ND, Montclair, Kean, Rutgers, Monmouth, and Drexel.
The careers you have in mind is being a doctor but you're not really sure of that yet. You're filled with so many doubts about your abilities that hopefully you'll lose soon enough because more than anything, I just want you to have the career of your dreams. Whether you become a writer, an interior designer, a nurse, or a doctor I hope that you will put all your efforts into the career that you choose and I sure as hell hope that you're happy with the choices your making. Right now, you can't tell whether you want to be a doctor because that's been a lifelong dream or because you know that it's something that will make your parents proud.
I know that more than anything in the world, you just want to make them proud will all the sacrifices that they have made for you. I know that you just want it o look to them that all the hard work and effort is so incredibly worth it because GOD DAMN their daughter is a doctor but I just want you to be happy. I think that as long as you're happy with what you end up doing with your life, your parents will be okay with it.
4. Are you happy?
Love you always,
Past Micah
