Chamber of Reflection

Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, "Chamber of Reflection" has been one of my favorite songs for almost two years. It's weird to think that A's cover of it introduced me to a lot of Mac's music. She has good taste. When I'm high it's like his voice puts me in a trance-like state. Everything from the lyrics to the beat is just phenomenal to me. When I 1st listened to it, it was new. The sound was different. I finally broke out of what I normally listened to. Honestly, I never had a specific genre that I preferred to listen to, to begin with. It took me a while to fully understand what DeMarco was talking about. Yes, I liked the lyrics, but I really enjoyed how the music sounded. I think that's the case for a lot of folks when it comes to songs. Y'know, liking songs without reading in between the lyrics. I guess I could relate. DeMarco is saying that you should spend time in this chamber of reflection, figuring out how to improve your life. "Understand that when you leave here you'll be clear among the better men." Once you leave the chamber you'll have much more clarity about your life. Not too sure what "better men" means but it could mean that more positive people will come into your life once you gain a more positive outlook on yourself as a person. Didn't hurt to guess... lol Sometimes i do feel lonely. The "chamber" was intended for you to be alone to carefully analyze yourself and the world around you, not to feel lonely. My interpretation could be off but it just seems right to me. "Spend some time away, getting ready for the day you're born again. Spend some time alone. Understand that soom you'll run with better men. Alone again." I guess it's really up to you to decide. I made this letter public to introduce more people to good music. If you're a stoner, please light up and give Mac Demarco a chance. His music is 20x better when you're baked. If you don't smoke, listen anyway.
